The Scholarship amount will be $4,000. Applications will be available in the early spring of each year. Completed applications must be postmarked on or before Friday, May 14, 2010. Selection and notification of the recipient will be made in late spring, and includes recognition at the December Ohio Turfgrass Conference and Show Annual Awards Banquet. The following criteria must be followed for the applicant to be considered for scholarship:

The student applicant must:

• Be enrolled in turfgrass management coursework in the state of Ohio with a minimum of 20 hours, with 10 hours in turfgrass management.
• Have a 2.50 cumulative GPA and a 2.75 PGAin major to qualify.
• Include current grade transcript. (Hard copies of online transcripts sent with application are acceptable, but please make sure PHRs are included and clearly visible.)
• Include at least two separate letters of recommendation from two people presently employed in the turfgrass management field.
• Answer all application questions honestly and to the best of applicant's knowledge.
• Type the application.
• Sign the application.
• Complete and postmark applications on or before Friday, May 14, 2010.
• Do not e-mail any portion of the application, or it will be discarded.

If any of the above items are missing or incomplete, the application will be dismissed from consideration by the scholarship committee. The top candidates will be chosen through the application process based on these criteria:

1. Completed and signed application received by deadline date.
2. Desire and need for financial assistance to further educational goals.
3. Dedication to the golf course management field.
4. Scholarship and academic achievement to date.

The scholarship recipient will be chosen after the top candidates have been interviewed by the Scholarship Committee. All information received will be held in strict confidence by the Scholarship Committee of the Central Ohio Golf Course Superintendents Association.
